If you're reading this, you've probably done the same thing as me. You've been looking into or purchased a Quadro P4000 graphics card, while only having a HDMI-only display, with the assumption that you'll just use a cheap DisplayPort to HDMI cable to get it to work with your monitor. But, you've been searching and found that there are two types of adapters — passive and active — passive needing a DP++ or dual-mode DisplayPort, while active adapters working with either regular DisplayPorts or DP++. But the online specifications for the NVIDIA Quadro P4000 (and the other versions e.g. HP, PNY, etc.) don't actually say whether the 4 ports are DP++ or regular DP. Well, I got in touch with NVIDIA and according to their "internal" documents, the ports are DP++ 1.4. This means that passive HDMI/DVI adapters should work with your Quadro P4000 and monitor. My AmazonBasics DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI cable did work with the Quadro P4000. Hope this helps someone out there!
